DESCRIPTION:The Powder Diffraction (PD) beamline at the Australian Synchrot
 ron is hosting a powder diffraction data analysis workshop aimed at PhD st
 udents and early career researchers. The workshop seeks to provide current
  and potential users of the powder diffraction beamline with advice on pre
 paring for synchrotron beamtime\, understanding the information contained 
 within PD data\, and an overview of data analysis software\, including han
 ds-on use of selected software packages. It is intended that the workshop 
 will be part tutorial and part practical\,&#160\;and participants are ther
 efore encouraged to bring a Windows-based laptop.\nLocation\nThe workshop 
 will be held at the Australian Synchrotron\, 800 Blackburn Rd\, Clayton\, 
 Victoria.\nDate\n18-19 January 2010\nProgram\nWorkshop tutorials will be p
 resented by&#160\;Brendan Kennedy (Uni. of Sydney)\, Ian Madsen (CSIRO) an

 \nRegistration\nRegistration has now closed.\nTravel\nIf travelling by air
 \, arrive at Melbourne Tullarine Airport (MEL). There are two simple optio
 ns for travel from the airport to the Ibis Hotel.&#160\;See below for deta
 ils.\nTo travel to the Australian Synchrotron from the Ibis Hotel\, take t
 he 737 bus from Glen Waverley train station.&#160\; To view the&#160\;time

 3\nPublic Transport\nDirections:\nFrom the lower level outside the main te
 rminal at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport take the Skybus to Southern Cross 
 Railway Station. A one-way ticket costs $16. When you arrive at Southern C
 ross Station you may take the train or a taxi.\nIf you decide to take the 
 train you will need to purchase a separate ticket at the train station. Yo
 u will need a zone 1+2\, 2-hour ticket to take the 'Glen Waverley' line to
  Syndal Station. On arrival at Syndal station\,&#160\;use the same ticket 
 to get on the 703 bus\, which will take you close to either Rusden House o
 r the Australian Synchrotron.&#160\; The bus departs from Blackburn Road.
 \nThe train trip will take approximately 40 mins\, the bus trip approximat
