DESCRIPTION:There is a rapidly growing demand for access to synchrotron Sma
ll Angle Scattering (SAS) for biological solution scattering\, however man
y researchers know only a little about the applicability and limitations o
f this technique. The workshop aims to inform the biology community about
modern SAS instrumentation\, experimental design and data analysis with pa
rticular emphasis on modelling from low-resolution solution scattering dat
 a. The Australian Biological Small Angle Scattering Workshop is targeted a
t researchers in structural biology\, from PhD students to post doctoral f
ellows\, and even interested group leaders.\n\nA group of experts from the
international SAS community\, including the EMBL (Hamburg)\, and staff fr
om the Australian Synchrotron SAXS/WAXS beamline will present the workshop
and be on hand to answer questions. It is expected that with the ever gro
wing demand for SAXS beamtime among biological users\, the workshop will p
rove extremely valuable and places will be highly sought.\n\nHosted at Aus
tralian Synchrotron\, this Workshop will comprise an introduction to SAS t
echniques on day one for those with no experience with SAS methods\, follo
wed by three days of in-depth instruction on collecting high quality SAS d
ata and analysis strategies.\nRegistration fees:\nRegistration will includ
e lunch and morning and afternoon tea each day.&#160\; GST is included in
 the price.\n\n \n \n Date\n Course\n

 industry participants\n $650\n \n \n\nIntroduction to
BioSAS is intended for beginners or those with an interest in biological
SAS who have not yet completed any experiments using this technique.\nausB
ioSAS is designed for active Users of SAXS or SANS who have completed expe
riments on&#160\; laboratory\, synchrotron or neutron sources. This progra
m assumes significant prior knowledge of these techniques.&#160\; Beginner
s with no data should go to the Introduction to BioSAS workshop immediatel
y preceeding ausBioSAS.&#160\; Delegates will be required to pre-install s
oftware (scatterBrain and Atsas) for hands on activities. \n\nTo register
for one or both of these courses\, please click here.\nClick here to downl
oad the program.\nThe workshop will form a satellite meeting for the SAS20
12 International Small-Angle Scattering Conference in Sydney from Nov 18 –
  23.
