The annual Young Tall Poppy Awards for early-career researchers are open again. Previous winners include four synchrotron users.

The awards identify the best and brightest of Australia's early career researchers across all fields of scientific endeavour. The Tall Poppy Campaign then facilitates leadership training and outreach opportunities, “utilising these young leaders of tomorrow to inspire future generations and promote positive long-lasting change”.

The Tall Poppy Campaign is an independent, not-for-profit awards and outreach program that celebrates scientific research excellence and encourages broader scientific literacy.

The awards are open to early-career researchers between two and 10 years post-doctorate and under the age of 35. Nominations for all states and territories close at 11:59pm on 29 April 2013.
