The 19th Australian Institute of Physics Congress incorporating the 35th Australian Conference on Optical Fibre Technology will be the biggest and most diverse scientific meeting of the Australian physics calendar. Hosted by the Australian Institute of Physics, it will attract 700-1000 delegates from groups across Australia, including academic institutions, CSIRO, DSTO, ANSTO, Australian Synchrotron, teachers and students, hospitals and a diverse range of industry sectors: manufacturing, telecommunications, biomedicine, defence, transport and electronics.

The meeting will showcase recent scientific results and exciting new developments in related instrumentation, software, and techniques of analysis. It will focus on advances in industrial and fundamental research, particularly those achieved though new developments in techniques.

The 7th International Conference on Inelastic X-ray Scattering is hosted by ESRF and Politecnico di Milano. The conference will cover electronic resonant and non-resonant scattering (soft and hard x-rays), emission spectroscopy, meV-resolved atomic dynamics, nuclear inelastic scattering, Compton scattering, and thermal diffuse scattering.
