Emma Liepa, Head of Industry Engagement and CommunicationIt is my privilege to greet you as Head of Industry Engagement and Communication at the Australian Synchrotron. I have been very warmly welcomed in my first weeks at the Synchrotron and am genuinely excited by the opportunity.

As Australians, we are fortunate to have this landmark research infrastructure – and the capability to operate and maintain it – on our doorstep. The importance of this and the world-class research it enables must not be underestimated and it is my role to ensure we capture these outcomes, harnessing them in a way that resonates, to drive stronger awareness among our community and build a coalition of support among our stakeholders.

We are also presented with a great opportunity to drive even stronger engagement with industry.

While the Australian Synchrotron’s engagement with industry has been solid, we can do even better; helping these important stakeholders to understand how a synchrotron can help them to innovate, solve problems and take advantage of opportunities, for the benefit of all Australians.

Of course, renewing our efforts in communication and industry engagement will have its challenges, however, this will be bolstered by the passion and commitment of staff and our user community, something which has been evident to me from day one. I look forward to working with you as we drive even greater engagement and shape awareness and understanding of the Australian Synchrotron and its contributions.
