This page contains information regarding workshops held in 2009
Phase 1 of the development plan process consisted of community engagement and the exchange of ideas.
The key activity of this consultation process was a series of ASDP Workshops that were convened around Australia and in New Zealand. The objective of the ASDP Workshops was to engage with all stakeholders and the broader scientific community in the process that would lead to the production of Science Case 2 (aka the Australian Synchrotron Development Plan or ASDP) – a roadmap for the future of the Australian Synchrotron over the coming decade. A key aim was to advertise where we have been, where we are now and critically, to seek ideas and advice on where we should be looking to go in the future.
The program of workshops that were held is listed in the table below.

Program
The Workshop Program included updates on the current status of the AS as well as ongoing development plans for experimental facilities and supporting infrastructure. Also presented were details of the mechanism by which the ASDP will be realised and how the whole community may be involved and a selection of possible new projects. Finally but importantly, the workshops concluded with an open discussion session aimed at seeking the ideas and suggestions of the attendees.
Approximately 200 people attended the ASDP Workshops and the level of engagements was extremely encouraging.
