Matthew works with MOF (metal organic framework) crystals, specialised materials that have an amazing diversity of industrial applications in food production, transport, pollution control, natural gas separation and mineral processing. Matthew and his colleagues at CSIRO use three main techniques at the Australian Synchrotron: powder diffractionx-ray crystallography and small angle x-ray scattering.
